Hello world!

pwgi-1

Ain’t life grand?!? The first blog post on a brand-new website. It doesn’t get any better than this. Well… okay… a Bobby McFerrin concert would be better than this, but maybe this will help that become a reality. There is a lot to see and do here, and we hope to have more and more new things every time you stop by to visit.

A great big thank you and hug to Tim Dineen at http://www.tahoet.com – I found that he was the creator of a site I visited, so I asked if he’d help me with a web site. He said, “sure,” and then worked with me for months to create what you see here! Tim and I have never met, but when I get out to Massachusetts, he will not be able to escape my visiting him!

So please do stop by often. Tell your friends. Have them tell their friends, too. And be generous when you can. We only need to raise $50,000 to bring Bobby McFerrin to Wichita! And then there’s the Antsy McClain concert, and another Andy McKee house concert, and, well, funds for completing my certification as a music practitioner… any donation will help a lot!!

Thanks, Sara. Yes, we have known each other a long time, haven’t we? :)

Just as one slight modification… I am working toward certification as a Music Practitioner, not a music therapist. Music therapy is a music degree path, and I’m not getting any more of those!

My certification is being earned through Music for Healing and Transition – http://www.mhtp.org – and if all goes as I intend, I will have certification by mid-2010.

I’ve known Billie a long time. And her love of music has always been a wonder to me. She truly is devoted to this and deserves all the support “people who get” music can give her.

I live in the Boston area where music and the opportunities to hear it live, everything from classic choral to jazz to blues to folk and singer-songwriter, are plentiful and too often taken for granted.

Please support Billie in her, dare I say, ministry and in her endeavors as a music therapist.
